Knitted embellishments brought to you by idle hands

Ayla

Knitter

I have readily relied on the tangible to occupy my hands - from chatter rings and Rubik's cube to knitting and always (always) carrying a book.

The seed for Noggin was planted in Dunedin, NZ where I learnt to knit from my mother, who learnt from her mother. I made beanies for friends and family at Jack Hill's studio on George Street, offhandedly called 'Crafternoon.'

Fast forward to my current life in East London. Lockdown 1.0 saw the creation of knitted face masks. Although these badboys were cute and courteous, they were purely cosmetic and proved a venture left to the PPE professionals. Lockdown 2.0 was when the real oomph happened. Fueled by porridge, idle hands and a lockdown mane that needed taming, scrunchies were crafted.

Massive eternal thanks to Zac Fay (@zac.fay) for all the logo work and the best trio of knitted critters.
